Nicholas Pickard is an arts writer, theatre reviewer, political media advisor and journalist. He has written on the performing arts sector for nearly ten years focusing particularly on his passion for the alternative and underground arts scene.
Currently writing for The Sun-Herald and Crikey he started the blog Sydney Arts Journo when he returned from studying theatre directing at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
His final graduate piece was a new Australian collaborative work using Slovenian actors and premiered in an old bunker which then toured to festivals throughout the Balkans, Germany and Austria.
He has also written for The Daily Telegraph, Currency House, Arts Hub, has taught performance studies at Macquarie University and is the media advisor to the Lord Mayor of Parramatta.
