Time travel you can dance to. An AV mash-up of music and film, news and advertising, mixed live by Remixing History with a special Sydney focus. Presented in association with Australia In Style.
Remixing History are a collective of video and audio artists stuck in the past. Hell-bent on reviving the best bits of pop culture from the past 40 years, the crew will spend time in the Lab collecting music, news footage, films, TV shows, commercials, jingles and everything else in their collective memories to present a VJ/DJ gig at the Festival, revisiting our most memorable sights and sounds of days gone by.
Plus: Lukasz Karluk (Holler) has collaborated with Stupid Krap artists KissKiss, DMOTE, Kid Zoom, Numskull, Ben Frost, Roach, John Doe, Bennet and Creon to present the work TimeBomb.
Nine street and studio artists were invited to contribute to the TimeBomb piece by painting layers of different style on the ‘wall’ while being continuously documented through time-lapse photography. The final installation will appear as two giant suspended graffiti walls. One painted wall will be real, the other a projected double, interacting with the viewers movements to reveal the layers of graffiti swirling backwards in time.
